PlayBox Neo announces the completion of a new playout facility for Chilean broadcaster ULagos TV. Owned and operated by the University of Los Lagos, ULagos TV provides a wide range of educational programs which are transmitted in 1080i high definition via the region's DTV network and online.
This new investment sees the replacement of legacy third-party playout equipment with a modern turnkey system comprising a latest-generation dual channel AirBox Neo-20 automated server populated with Capture Suite ingest management, TitleBox Neo-20 text and graphics generation and ListBox Neo-20 pre-transmission scheduling.
"This venture was prompted by the decision to add a second television channel," says Claudia Millan, Director of Strategic Communications at the University of Los Lagos. "We discussed the various options with the engineering team at Santiago-based broadcast systems integrator DUO who recommended PlayBox Neo as an industry-proven producer of robust and versatile TV channel branding and playout solutions."
"PlayBox Neo CIAB systems are inherently compact and power efficient as well as being very intuitive to drive," adds DUO Engineering Manager Robert Plass. "The system we proposed and have installed provides the resources needed to support both the existing and the new channel from a single server. It includes a Microsoft Windows operating system and Blackmagic Design interface cards. We also provided staff training onsite at ULagos TV's headquarters. The entire project ran very smoothly, completing within the planned timescale and within budget. One year of post-sale support is included and, like all PlayBox Neo customers, ULagos TV has the option of signing up to an annual service agreement for fast online support if needed plus future software upgrades."
"We are delighted to welcome ULagos TV as a new addition to our very large base of loyal and successful customers," comments PlayBox Neo CEO Pavlin Rahnev. "CIAB has been our core business for over two decades. Our systems are designed from the ground up to allow fast and trouble-free installation as well as being flexible to integrate with peripheral kit. Above all, PlayBox Neo products and services are stress-free for operators to work with thanks to the skill and long experience of our development and engineering support teams."
